I was craving for molo soup, it's been awhile since I have cooked one. We usually prepare Molo Soup during New Year, I'm not sure why but it has became a custom/ tradition in my family. It easy to prepare, you just need to make siomai, but instead of steaming it you will be boiling them on the soup.
Here is very simple recipe on how to cook Molo Soup. The primary ingredients are the siomai, chicken pork stock. In making the siomai, you will be needing ground pork/beef, carrots, celery, onions, egg, flour/bread crumbs, salt & pepper. You just need to put them all together make sure that they are mix very well. Then you need some siomai wrapper/dumpling, I prefer using dumpling since it holds the filling better than siomai wrapper (based on experienced). The wrapper can be purchased in grocery. Put an ample amount of filling inside the wrapper then seal the wrapper you can use water on sealing the siomai.
For the soup, you can boil pork/ chicken to make a stock. Once the meat is cook you can, remove the meat from the stock the set aside the stock. Sauté garlic and onions, then the meat, put some fish sauce, and then pour in the stock from earlier. Let it boil; taste the stock to add the flavor you want. Once the stock is boiling you can start dropping the siomai that you have made. Put on the lid, and let it boil for about 20mins. Then it is ready to serve.
